Review: Evanescence performed in NYC on the 4th of November 2009
On the 8th of November 2009, over 40.000 screaming fans of rock gathered to the Maquinaria Festival in Sao Paulo Brazil, for a one time performance by hard rock band Evanescence. At 9:30pm the band kicked off their performance with a short intro, leading into a powerful 'Going Under', and ending the show with 'Your Star'. Despite the bad weather, fans feel good about attending, saying it was "amazing" and "epic". One fan even stated it was a "great show, much beter with the rain."
Some of the other bands that played at the festival were Panic at the Disco, Deftones, Faith No More, Jane's Addiction, Sepultura, Danko Jones and Nacao Zumbi. But by the sounds of the fans, Evanescence's apearance was one of the best of the night. "A totaly mesmerizing show, Powerful and passionate performance by all the songs." - a fan stated.
On top of the fans enjoying the show, it sounds like the band themselves had a blast. "The rain was falling, the gear was breaking, and we still has a kick-ass time! Thank you Brazil, you rule," posted Amy.
Not only Amy, but also Terry praised their fans for rocken out at the show.
"Miss you Brazil already, Thank you so much for all the love, I would have to say you're without doubt the best fans!!" - posted Terry.
(Both Terry and Amy twittered this just days after they returned to the States).
Evanescence has stated that they will be releasing new material sometime next year.
"There's been a lot of writing going on this summer and I'm starting to get really excited. Terry and I have been working together this week at my place just like old times and life is pretty good," the singer stated early this year.
"We’re currently working on new material that I’m extremely excited about. I believe that to make great music you have to give yourself the freedom to evolve. I don’t see the point in making the same record twice, so I always want to challenge myself to make something better, stronger, and more interesting than before. That takes time, but it’s worth the wait for me. Hopefully, it will be for the fans too. Look out for new music next year…"
And I know that I'm definitely looking foward to the new material, as i'm sure you all are too. Amy has also posted on Twitter that she's working on a song for The Muppets revisited, it's rumored to be "Halfway down the stairs".
Can't wait to see the end result of her projects, and I also can't wait for the new album comming next year. Even though they haven't completely returned yet, we can expect them to be back full time next year.
You can have a look at some of the pictures taken at the concert.
